As a Customer Support Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging Japanese OEM customers, Volvo Penta dealers, and global engineering teams in Sweden. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with customers, and contributing to next-generation powertrain solutions in a global environment.

You will be involved not only in technical support and application engineering, but also in new business development and future product introduction projects. The role offers broad exposure across customer support, product application, quality improvement, and international collaboration.

What You Will Do

Customer Support & Technical Problem Solving

  • Lead and support resolution of technical and quality-related issues for industrial and marine engines
  • Collaborate with dealers and Volvo Penta global teams to identify root causes and implement countermeasures
  • Support both initial production (“0-hour”) and aftermarket quality cases

Application Engineering

  • Support specification alignment and technical adaptation for new product introductions
  • Review installation layouts and technical requirements together with Volvo Penta engineers in Sweden
  • Ensure products meet customer expectations as well as local regulations

OEM & Dealer Collaboration

  • Act as a technical interface between OEM customers, Volvo Penta Centers, and internal stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with customers and contribute to long-term business growth
  • Support development opportunities with both existing and new OEM partners

Continuous Learning

  • Participate in global trainings, technical reviews, and engineering discussions
  • Continuously expand competence in engine technology, emissions, and future mobility solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines or powertrain systems
  • Experience in engineering coordination or technical support
  • Business-level Japanese
  • Practical English communication skills (spoken and written)

  • Knowledge of emissions, safety, and noise regulations
  • Experience working with OEM customers or dealer networks
  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
