The Interpretation & Translation Team, part of the HR function, supports smooth communication between senior management and various departments, and plays an important role in facilitating business operations from a linguistic perspective.
Job Description
This position is for an in-house Interpreter/Translator who will primarily provide simultaneous interpretation to support communication in both management and technical domains.
The role is mainly based at UD Trucks’ headquarters in Ageo, Saitama, and involves primarily on-site support for face-to-face meetings, assisting high-level communication among internal and external stakeholders. Interpretation work will account for the majority of the role (approximately 90%), with translation work making up the remaining 10%.
Key Responsibilities
Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for internal and external meetings and events
Translate documents and internal/external communications related to management and automotive technology (English ⇄ Japanese)
Provide language support to various departments in collaboration with the in-house Interpretation & Translation Team
Support special projects as required
Provide interpretation support for domestic and international business trips when needed
Required Qualifications
At least 2–3 years of professional experience as a Japanese-English interpreter
Strong skills in both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation
Formal training from a professional interpretation institution
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the automotive, semiconductor, electronic components, or device industries
Knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends
