Title:  Director - Business Control Region SE&EA

Job Overview

• The purpose of the role is to provide business control and logistics activities by ensuring that financials logistics policies and procedures adhere to and support business growth through effective and efficient business practices.
• The role ensures the compliance with all Malaysian legal and statutory requirements.
• Region SEEA philosophy is to ensure that the region will prioritize specific countries/markets. This prioritization is based on profitability and return of each market within a region. It will be the responsibility of the Business Control Director to provide the analysis and data to apply this methodology for the markets in the area.

• The holder of the position is one of the Company Director of UD Truck Malaysia Sdn Bhd as legal representative and a member of the region management team.
• Region SEEA is responsible for managing importers in Hong Kong, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Taiwan.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the monthly preparation, review and analysis of management and operational KPI reports.
• Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of targets and budgets. Conduct variance analysis of actuals against budgets / forecasts and develop action plans including accurate and meaningful comments and forecasts that call attention to important trends and potential problems/risks and opportunities.
• Ensure the adherence of uniform accounting practices, adequate internal controls, in accordance with the UD Trucks financial policies and procedures
• Ensure that UD Trucks Malaysia Sdn Bhd complies to all legal and statutory requirements in Malaysia.
• Perform operational and financial analysis to enable and support continuous business growth.
• Responsible dotted line for the UD Trucks Singapore dealership business control and finance whereby the company is managing UD Trucks retail business in Singapore.
• Ensure provisions are set according to business needs and group compliance.
• Drive the cash flow towards target by monitoring the overall vehicles inventory, stock chassis ordering, monthly vehicle and parts overdue, importer stock follow up
• Responsibility for treasury and risk management support in cooperation with UDT Treasury.
• Support Region Director to define and communicate strategic directions to meet objectives for UDT in a 3-year rolling Business Plan revised annually.
• Secure invoicing from UD Trucks organization is executed in due time as per process by coordinating with the logistics department a smooth process (this includes importer payment terms and conditions management).
• Drive and execute the governance of Region SEEA management team by setting up the pace of monthly management performance meetings, monthly Region BRM and update APAC BRM material.
• Drive the compliance of importer agreements and due diligence renewal.
• Propose and drive customer and importer financing solutions together with trade finance manager.
• Challenge current business practices and recommend alternative practices and processes. Drive positive change in process and procedure for better efficiency.
• Maintain network with controllers among UD Trucks organization and importers.

Minimum Qualification

• At least 5 years’ experience in similar positions
• Strong knowledge on financial management
• Strong customer orientation and partnership mindset with importers
• Trade and export financing knowledge
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Any South East Asian language is an advantage
• Excellent Communication skills - written and verbal
• Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office suite) and is familiar with SAP accounting
• Able to work independently and delivers on time
• Performance driven and ability to bring change
• Conscientious, integrity and team player qualities are essential
• Commercial knowledge and overall sense of running business, including development of services sales
• Existing experience and business acumen of the Japanese truck brand in South East Asia is a major plus
• Leadership, marketing and communication skills
• Experience in working with management level in multinational company for at least 3 years

• Proficiency in English, orally and in writing. Any South East Asian language is an advantage
• Entrepreneurship mindset (lean, cost and time efficient, focused, creative, accountable)
