Role (purpose of the Job)

The Transport Material Responsible is responsible for coordination of EXIM / Domestic shipments; with the customers, freight forwarders, shipping companies, ship agents, customs brokerage & customs officer, X-dock, truckers, and up to receiving of delivery and must provide the client with the best overall service levels, meet & exceed established goals for on-time pick-up and delivery with proactive approach. The role requires previous background of logistics Transport coordination.

 

Key Responsibilities

Transport Material UD Bangkok Plant:

  • Be responsible for co-ordination with approved X-Dock operators for on time vessel connectivity with.
  • Coordination with Direct FCL from UD Material suppliers.
  • Coordination with Liners, Forwarders, Transporters, Customs brokerage, overseas colleagues & Customers for lining up documentation requirements with them.
  • Close co-ordination within the team (Internal & External) for their day-to-day requirements. Monitoring end to end activities (transportation, consolidation, custom clearance, freight, delivery, LSP Invoice validation and processing)
  • Be able to correctly classify commodity/product against the HSN as specified by UD Customs Compliance
  • Maintaining KPI’s – Formalize, Record and Maintain KPI  
  • Arrange structured meetings with Customers (Internal/ external) and LSPs
  • Dealing with special arrangements for transporting delicate cargos/ DG/ ODC and high value freight
  • Maintaining communication and control through all phases of the journey
  • Proactively work with transportation & shipping teams to identify shipments at risk of not meeting delivery expectations based on mode, service level, miles and equipment type
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
  • Follow escalation process for deviation reporting to Material Controllers
  • Monitoring correct usage of support Systems like ATLAS/ XTR / A4D  
  • Monitoring & controlling Pre-Carriage, Freight & On- Carriage activities & cost.
  • Monitoring & controlling Cross Docking activities & Costs
  • Monitoring & Operational support to Import & Export Customs Clearances
  • Communication to Overseas UD plants/ suppliers/ customers for Imports/ Exports flows
  • Analyse and decide on the shipment mode (AIR/ROAD/SEA vs Cost) against the production demand.
  • Receiving, Analyzing, Processing and documenting Information accurately
  • Evaluating Information to determine and ensuring compliance with Standards
  • Verify billing from LSPs
  • Optimize delivery schedule and filling rate

Main competence requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized University is must. Bachelor of Logistics/ Engineering /MBA will be preferred
  • Diploma in Transport Logistics or supply chain is preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years’ experience in Transport Logistics with ability to handle problem resolution in timely manner
  • Business acumen & Good Import/Export Trade knowledge
  • Analytical, dynamic & Proactive
  • High Integrity & strong ethics
  • Good communication & Team Oriented
  • Excellent written and spoken English & local language
  • Experience from the automotive sector will be considered an advantage
