Mission/purpose of the job:

To support the Knock down (KD) plants to Establish the Embedded Software (ESW) Download & Check Process in the UD trucks during Assembly

To aid in Diagnostics & Issue Resolution for UD trucks at the End of the Assembly in KD Plants

As the single point of contact for KD Plants, work closely with multiple Stakeholders within UD Trucks and Alliance Partner

The responsibility also includes participating in the start-up project of new KD factories as well as the introduction of new products into existing factories.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities

The Key responsibility is to secure all ESW related tasks in the KD Plants in both Project and Regular Production phases

For ESW, make recommendation and drive development where necessary within the scope of the applicable processes and networks.

Key Responsibilities in Project Phase: (Creation of new KD Plant)
o
Assess on technical feasibility of Securing the UD ESW Process for UD trucks in new KD plants
o
Share and guide the KD plants information regarding the basic infrastructure (Servers, Client PCs and accessories) to secure End to end ESW process in KD plants.
o
Create and set up the Factory System for the new KD plant by defining the Operations Check Sequence as relevant to the ESW Assembly process at KD Plant
o
Confirm vehicle software package data and perform required testing and validations in the KD Plants
o
Train the Operators, Engineers and IT personnel in the KD Plants
o
During the Production of 1st batch of truck, support on Diagnostics and Issue resolution

Key Responsibilities in Maintenance Phase: (Regular Production and new Product changes in KD Plants)
o
Secure regular 4M information from ESW &EE teams at Ageo and BKK – mainly related to ESW Design Change notes (DCN), Change in HW fixture or adapter for SWDL process, Change in Check Operation Sequence
o
Support and participate in securing ESW related Internal campaigns at KD Plants
o
Work closely with Plant Coordinators to Coordinate the Sync of HW and SW changes during the introduction for each Intro block at KD Plants.
o
Drive regular meetings with KD plants and provide all the ESW related 4M Change information
o
Provide Online Support to KD Plants for any issue related to the ESW and Diagnostics- which are usually raised over Factory Support Question (FSQ) tool or Email
o
Work as central Help desk to coordinate for Issue resolution with Alliance Partner and ESW &EE teams at Mother Plants
o
Support the KD plants with ESW tool version upgrade and coordinate with KD IT Plants for Windows Upgrades.
o
Secure regular Education/ training to KD Plant members on need basis.
PERSONAL PROFILE
Preferred educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related

Minimum 5-8 years of Automotive experience from Engineering or Manufacturing
Preferred experience and knowledge

Understanding of the Assembly Processes, configuration of IT network and Server

Experience of engineering work within Global Trucks Operations or equivalent is an advantage.

Knowledge of UD tools and systems (KOLA, GeSP, GDP, ESW expertise, UD Trucks Production System (UDPS)) is added advantage.
Necessary technical/ Functional/ Language skills

As documentation is in English, Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Able to understand Automotive electrical engineering, electric circuit diagram
Travel required (maximum)
Occasional and planned travels to KD Partner Plants & Other UD Plants – to Provide System support , Participate in key Workshops/Conferences and build network with Alliance Partners.
