Mission/purpose of the job:

 

As Industrial Development Director in UDT International Manufacturing, your work is founded in the UDT Strategic Agenda and its priorities. You will be responsible to drive investigation and selected strategic projects, and initiatives from analysis to implementation within the UDT IM. Focus is on developing the industrial footprint in export markets and priorities set by the UDT. A prerequisite for success is to develop and maintain an effective cooperation with key stakeholders within UDT and when so applies, with external parties.

 

 

Key responsibilities/accountabilities

 

According to Industrial Development Director role:

  • Develop the KD concept and long term strategic industrial and development plan for KD in UD Trucks, including the KD manual
  • Deploy strategies for KD (when applicable) and ensuring alignment with UDT strategic goals.
  • Manage and monitor the KD – Footprint Projects portfolio including resource management
  • Secure alignment between priorities set by the UDT and be the entry point for Industrial Development change request for KD
  • Provide structured recommendations based on your findings to key stakeholders and decision makers,
  • Prepare executive documentation, reports, and presentation materials for decision-making forums, steering committees, and strategic reviews.
  • Prepare and manage the Supply Component and Assembly Agreement for KD Importers / assemblers, and coordinate with Legal, Finance, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution and risk management.
  • Lead the strategic work and business plan for UDTIM, including yearly reviews and governance (internal and external).

 

According to Industrial Investigation Leader role:

  • Investigate, analyse and evaluate various questions of strategic importance for the UDT related to KD, e.g. the industrial footprint in export markets, localization initiatives, and KD assembly setups,
  • Building and leading cross--function teams to drive industrial pre-study relate to KD Business, and be interphase to the commercial studies
  • Drive multiple strategic investigations and projects from analysis to implementation, sometimes as investigation leader, project-leader, or as part of a team,
  • Proactively identify and propose new investigations together with UDIS or UDT’s strategic priorities and business opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate industrial and project-related risks, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and local regulations.

 

 

According to complementary task assignment:

  • Sponsor process development
  • Though coaching contributes to team development, and project management

 

Key responsibilities/accountabilities

 

PERSONAL PROFILE

Preferred educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

 

  • Masters/University degree or experience to equivalent level. 
  • Industrial development and Project management training, or equivalent experience background

 

 

Preferred experience and knowledge

 

  • Analytical skills and strategic mind.
  • Experience and good skills in Industrial Development, and understanding of business development in the automotive or infrastructure industry 
  • Robust understanding of our industry and our customers’ business
  • Business oriented with an ability to work cross functionally 
  • Experience and good skills from industrial manufacturing environment 
  • High level of integrity and ethical values
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
  • Experience of change management, and not afraid of the challenge to be leading leaders
  • Lean Manufacturing/UDPS skills
  • Networker with a collaborative perspective

 

 

Necessary technical/ Functional/ Language skills

 

Good understanding of UD Products and Processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Fluent in English, written and verbal communication. Japanese language is a plus. 

Able to work in a very diverse cultural and international environment
