Title: YC: Used department Sales Assistant
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. To assist sales and admin in preparing used and demo vehicles. Gain knowledge of the used market with trade in values as well as admin processes to be followed and adhered to within the UD organisation. Gaining sales experience in dealing with dealers as well as customers. Being successful in this position will open doors to following a career in new or used vehicle sales as well as insights on the admin side of vehicles and processes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Visually inspect vehicles for damage upon return of demo vehicles.
- Arrange inspection of vehicles with workshops.
- Follow up on problems found by workshop on vehicles checked.
- Knowledge of parts that need to be fitted and ordered for repairs to be done.
- Knowledge of errors that occur on vehicles related to technical, batteries, system and repair if possible or report to workshop to repair.
- Doing delivery inspection when handing vehicle to customer.
- Attending to fuel shortages when sending vehicles out.
- Dropping of documentation to registration office for vehicle registration, change of ownership and license renewals (Pat’s Registration).
- Collecting paperwork from registration office when registered, license renewals and change of ownership is completed.
- Ensure that new vehicles are fitted with license discs and numberplates.
- Ensuring that renewed licenses are fitted on the correct unit.
- Attending to the receiving of trade in units, inspecting the vehicles and preparing the units to be refurbished for sale.
- Follow up with workshops on progress of vehicles.
- Report on vehicle status and whereabouts.
- Do minor repairs and fitments.
- Collect and drop off parts.
- Arranging cleaning of units, be it a normal wash or complete Valet.
- Weekly testing of stationery units to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Attending to ordering, exchange and replacement of vehicle tyres, update storage file.
- Follow-up visits with 3rd party workshop (R2 Workshop) .
- Taking Units for Diesel when needed, movements, COF, short distance travel, updating diesel request forms, submitting diesel slip for order and payment keeping record of diesel slips for auditing.
- Knowledge of vehicles to be able to show vehicles to walk in customers when needed.
- Maintaining parts in the container and updating file on Excel.
Minimum qualifications:
- Language – Ability to speak, read and write in English
- General technical experience and knowledge of commercial vehicles
- Be able to deal with dealers on workshop technical level as well as sales staff
- Code 8 drivers license advantageous (code 14 commercial driver license preferred)
- Be able to work on Excel and Word
