UD Trucks is known for pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. We are seeking a dynamic Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a candidate who has already been admitted as an attorney and is looking to apply their legal expertise in a supportive, administrative, and client-focused environment. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Support labour and employment law matters, including:
    • Drafting charge sheets and notices;
    • Assisting with disciplinary processes and investigations;
    • Compiling evidence bundles and preparing documentation for hearings;
    • Supporting CCMA and internal disciplinary proceedings;
    • Liaising with HR and external labour attorneys;
  • Assist with litigation management, including:
    • Preparing briefs to external counsel;
    • Coordinating with attorneys and tracking case progress;
    • Attending consultations and court/CCMA proceedings where appropriate;
  • Maintain legal and contract records, including:
    • Filing and document management;
    • Tracking contractual obligations and key dates;
    • Providing administrative and company secretarial support where required.
  • Conduct legal research and draft internal legal opinions, particularly in relation to labour and commercial matters;
  • Assist with the drafting and review of commercial agreements and related documentation;
  • Support the preparation and delivery of compliance and policy training to internal stakeholders;

 

 

Minimum qualifications:

 

  • LL.B degree (completed or in final year);
  • Admitted attorney, particularly with exposure to labour law;
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in labour/employment law and dispute resolution;
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
