Title: Sales Manager SSA
Job Overview:
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. Purpose of the role is to sell the Transport Solution to the end user via the Dealer network in Sub-Sahara Africa Markets within the company’s operational business plan parameters whilst supporting the Dealer network in selling UD Trucks in the right application and ensuring profitability of vehicles for perpetual succession.
Key responsibilities
• To promote and increase sales by providing relevant input for sales strategy and sales plan to reach set targets as determined for the area of responsibility in supporting the company’s business plan.
• To manage, to UD Truck’s advantage, the customer profile by establishing a customer management strategy for the Dealer Sales team, to strengthen relationships and secure future business.
• To drive the company’s vision through an effective CRM (Customer Relation Management) programme, applicable to UD Trucks and Dealer sales departments, draft action plans accordingly and ensure effective and efficient implementation of corrective action.
• To communicate and drive the UD Truck’s sales vision by drafting action plans, ensure effective implementation thereof, and provide appropriate feedback to relevant stakeholder
• To define, propose, and implement customer strategy-based market factors and customer needs.
• To provide market feedback with proposals and effective implementation of brand, product and pricing positioning as well as market analysis to determine dealer targets within Sub-Sahara Africa Markets
• To manage and control the VMS for the UD Trucks brand within the company operational plan parameters
• To provide accurate and timeous reporting of sales and parts targets to relevant stakeholders KPI’s submissions to support strategy and take corrective actions as and when required.
• To ensure a competent and professional sales and service force at dealer level, through input to training departments on sales, parts, service and technical needs
with breakdowns, service and support.
• To continuously build and enhance customer relationships via the Dealer network and ensure the UDTSA is professionally represented, promoting UD Brand, drive objectives to managing UD events and campaign to promote the UD Truck Brand.
• To support the dealer network to increase aftermarket utilization by providing input to CDC on dealer development needs and systems training.
• To facilitate a demo programme to Dealers to introduce new products, and their application to customers, in order to optimize sales.
• To managing the service and workshop process to increase productivity and profitability of aftersales to ensure customer satisfaction and uptime.
• To follow up and resolve all debtors, creditors, customer queries and improve communication with customers.
Key Interfaces:
• To offer complex offer preparations, including for example vehicle selection, bodybuilding, customization, technical assistance.
• To provide quotes to the Sub-Sahara Africa Market Dealers
• To update and maintain dealer standards minimum requirements with strict compliance to processes, policies, skills and training.
• To monitor outstanding campaigns and address with the region and implementation of regional / specific campaigns including campaign targets
• To monitor weekly holdups in the workshops and speed of turnaround and highlight support requirements immediately to reduce downtime.
• To ensure dealer /customers queries are actioned timeously with relevant internal departments.
• To schedule and coordinate regular meetings (country management meeting) wherever and whenever necessary to promote the sale of genuine parts, workshop hours and new vehicle sales to achieve annual sales and parts objectives.
Knowledge and Skills Required :

• French speaking is essential
• Other languages in Sub-Sahara Africa preferable

Qualification and Experience Requirement
• Tertiary qualification with focus on Road Transportation/Transport Management (essential)
• Sales and Marketing qualification (desirable)
• Technical/engineering qualification (desirable)
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial vehicle sales, of which 5 years in a management capacity
• Specific exposure to export processes (commercial vehicles) (essential)
