Title: Product Quality Engineer
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. The purpose of this role is to assist the dealer network reduce warranty costs, improve product quality and support dealers with technical support ensuring product reliability.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- To assist dealers from a technical perspective to ensure maximum up time of all trucks.
- To assist dealers in diagnosing faults and hands on training but not do the job for them
- To liaise with the dealer network collecting data on quality issues with the product
- To compile failure reports to indicate the extent of the problem in the market and determine the frequency and cost of the specific problem.
- To create Market Quality Reports on high frequency failures to inform the manufacturer of possible product related problems.
- To create technical bulletins for problems associated with the local market ensuring that dealer needs are met.
- To produce local solutions for problems that are not addressed by the manufacturer
- To produce local campaigns to address technical issues on a preventative basis
- To create Argus cases for problems affecting specific vehicles
- To collect and forward failed material to TMA in the required timeframe when requested to do so
- To supply technical input on claims for warranty controllers and service agreement handlers when requested to do so
- To produce a monthly number of MQR’s submitted report detailing quality concerns and submit to department administrator in the first week of the new month for the previous month
- To manage Tech tool support to the dealers
- To manage the Argus case support
- Reporting Kuzer failures on FIR
- Assisting with UDCP adjudicating claims
Education and Experience:
• Must be Qualified Diesel Technician
• Must have min 5 yrs. experience as Qualified Diesel Technician (Master Technician advantageous)
• UD Trucks experience advantageous
• Foremen/Management experience will be Advantageous
• Must have exceptionally strong electrical knowledge.
• Qualified Auto Electrician advantageous
• Transportation diploma advantageous
• Master diagnostic on electrical and software
• Computer literacy (MS Office: Excel (Intermediate); MS Word (Intermediate)
