Job Overview
UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. The main purpose of the job is
to develop the logistics road map for the future- Plan and implementation of an effective logistics flow.
To lead a logistics team to achieve:
- An effective all logistics flows- KD (system and physical) in line with UDPS principles
- To estimate and optimize resources used in Logistics (man, machines, area, costs etc) to match the build-rates and also provide logistics resource information to any project affecting logistics.
- Develop and execute production planning and management of critical control room (CCR) to achieve daily production units.
- To drive the implementation of UD Strategy and continuous improvement in line with logistics principles
- To lead and drive synergies with Isuzu
Job Objectives
- Lead the logistics teams to achieve the KPIs and develop the team.
- Promote safety in all Operations process Logistics, Production, Quality.
- Design and implement the logistics process flow for KD, including good receipt, binning, storage, inventory, material preparation, internal material supply to the line, reverse flow of empty containers, KD pick and pack, outbound loading, flow of scrap, admin flow and all other logistic process using UDPS principles.
- Drive elimination of UCRs to improve material availability and support production.
- Inventory management processes such as stock take to prevent stock inaccuracy.
- Monitor and control material handling parameter, flow, methodologies & systems to support production according to business systems requirement and develop supply flow to avoid obstruction to parts supply flow.
- Calculate/Estimate and recommend the resource required for all logistics operations (manning, machines, facilities, layout, area etc) for current and future needs including inputs to projects.
- Estimate investment budgets and follow up for implementation.
- Drive UD Strategy implementation within Logistics. Participate in Logistics operations and UDPS networks to drive best practice in logistics.
- Drive industrial Projects related to Logistics operations. Collaborate with cross functions for all projects.
- Drive Synergies with Isuzu.
- Prepare the road map for the future logistics flows (including systems) and secure effective implementation of the road map.
- Contribute to the UDTO Management team to achieve the KPIs and strategic activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Logistics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or.
- Masters degree will be an advantage.
Job Experience
- Experience in Automotive Business and Lean manufacturing minimum 8 years.
- Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated experience in leading teams
- Good analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems.
- Good Logistics managerial and engineering skills – Process knowledge, systems knowledge, lean thinking, resource calculations, layouts etc
- Energetic, self-motivated, result-oriented, systematic and logical thinking.
- Process oriented and change management skills.
- Quick learner
- Business acumen.
- Strong communicator with good verbal and written skills in English.
