  • Perform both Steady state and transient simulations using ANSYS FLUENT
  • Estimate the Top Tank Temperature [TTT] & Front-end air flow velocities to size the engine cooling system using ANSYS FLUENT and verify LAT and IMTD requirements
  • Perform system level flow and pressure CFD simulations for Air Intake, Exhaust systems, urea lines, fuel lines, cooling coil, auxiliary coolant system like cab heater, AdBlue heating system, muffler dosing unit, retarder and transmission oil cooler circuits etc
  • Solve convective heat transfer problems in CFD and estimate thermal impact on sensitive components due to hot sources like engine, exhaust etc

GT Suite:

  • Develop 1D models using GT Suite and perform 1D calculation for Coolant system Pressure drop, flow rate estimations and Temperature estimations using GT-Suite
  • Perform 1D calculation for Cooling System performance [TTT Model] using GT-Suite
  • Perform Transient simulations using GT Suite for applicable systems.

MATLAB – Simulink

  • Develop MATLAB Simulink models to execute system level simulations including model building, MIL Testing, automatic code creation for ECU/Software integration etc
  • Finetune and co-relate models using testing results and ensure accuracy and scalability
  • Use Simulink add-ons such as Simulink test, Simulink coverage, Simscape etc whenever required

Generic:

  • Preparing the preprocessing boundary condition set up using the CFD/1D solving tools.
  • Post-processing & preparing engineering reports, recommend/suggest/initiate new design/process approaches to meet the technical performance and project requirements.
  • Co-relate simulation results with bench level/vehicle level testing and finetune the model
  • Narrow down on root causes for simulation vs testing results deviation and improve the models
  • Prepare Knowledge management documents to record boundary conditions, methodologies, error resolutions etc to standardize the simulation process
