ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Work Package Leader/ Lead Engineer – Electrical & Electronics / Vehicle Functions, you will,

  • Own and lead the identified Electrical & Electronics (EE) work package deliveries, including Electrical Components and related Vehicle Functions, for new product and maintenance projects within the assigned product scope.
  • Drive definition and maturity of functional requirements, concepts, interfaces, and validation strategy across the development lifecycle.
  • Support reviews, decision making, and release readiness by ensuring the function is technically mature, validated, and fully documented.
  • Be accountable for overall QDCF (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Feature) performance of the work package throughout the product life cycle, ensuring agreed targets and commitments are achieved.
  • Evaluate incoming project needs together with the Line Manager and relevant stakeholders; define work-package scope, deliverables, milestones, budget/effort, priorities, resource needs and delivery plan.
  • Lead pre-study and planning activities for the assigned work package, translate project requirements into executable engineering activities, and secure clear ownership and interfaces.
  • Plan, coordinate and follow up work-package execution; monitor progress against milestones, identify deviations early, manage risks and dependencies, and drive corrective actions and escalations when required.
  •  Coordinate cross-functional teams across systems, software, hardware, integration, test, manufacturing, and suppliers to secure milestones and issue resolution.
  • Act as the primary cross-functional interface for the work package towards related Vehicle Engineering functions, Operations, Aftermarket, Q&CS, Sales, Global Technology Organization / GTT and other relevant internal or external stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical solutions and engineering deliveries are aligned with product requirements, EE architecture/concepts, product road maps, applicable processes, quality expectations and agreed verification/validation needs.
  • Lead work-package quality and delivery reviews, ensure issues and decisions are followed to closure, and provide clear status, risks, dependencies and recovery plans in relevant project and Vehicle Engineering forums.
  • Support the Line Manager and project leadership on strategic and operational topics such as EE synergy across UD Trucks and ISUZU products, product cost reduction, technology-partner collaboration, resource optimization and continuous improvement of engineering efficiency.

WHO ARE YOU?

As an aspirant towards this role, we expect you,

Must Have: 

  1. BE / ME / M Tech in Electronics / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
  2. 10+ years of experience in automotive Electrical & Electronics product development, with demonstrated responsibility for leading technical deliveries, projects or engineering work packages.
  3. Strong understanding of EE product development across concept, configuration, integration and verification, with good exposure to system engineering, requirement management and stakeholder management.
  4. Demonstrated ability to define scope, build delivery plans, estimate effort/resource needs, manage priorities, track milestones and drive risks, issues and dependencies to closure.
  5. System-level understanding of the assigned function; requirements decomposition, interfaces, feature behavior, and verification logic
  6. Architecture awareness across software, hardware, controls, diagnostics, and integration constraints
  7. Good overall knowledge of automotive Hardware & Software development and verification, including vehicle communication protocols such as J1939, LIN and Ethernet.
  8. Structured problem solving, prioritization, and traceability across concept, development, test, and release phases
  9. Good knowledge of Quality Management (QMS), DFMEA, Product Quality Assurance, problem-solving methods and relevant quality tools.
  10. Proven experience working in global/local organizations with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, including effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Experience with structured project execution and modern ways of working; knowledge of Agile / SAFe is an advantage.

Additional Good to Have: 

  1. Experience with project planning and tracking tools, engineering change/configuration management, diagnostics, production and/or aftermarket workshop systems.
  2. Knowledge of global automotive standards and regulations relevant to EE product development, e.g. ECE R10, ISO 26262, SAE J1939, etc.
  3. Experience in supplier / technology-partner coordination, cost optimization, resource planning or multi-site engineering delivery.
  4. Understanding of project operations, financial/effort tracking, change management and product life-cycle governance.
