Senior Warranty Segment Leader 

UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. We are looking for a passionate automotive professional to lead the technical discussions with supplier on failure modes and secure financial recovery of warranty claims. This position is organized within Quality Assurance department, UD Trucks Technology in Bangalore

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Supplier Warranty Recovery (SWR) Execution:

 

Key deliverables:

  • Perform warranty analytics and take decision on warranty material analysis (WMA).
  • Define technical ownership and root cause of failure modes based on technical analysis.
  • Define failure responsibility with the supplier and lead warranty cost recovery negotiations ensuring full compliance with the warranty agreements.
  • Prepare & release Warranty Bulletin.
  • Work closely with Legal team to prepare the recovery case.
  • Prepare and issue warranty cost‑recovery invoices to suppliers and monitor the process to ensure timely reimbursement in accordance with agreements.

Associated sub responsibilities:

  • Lead failure‑mode consolidation, coordinate cross‑functional and global teams and execute major supplier warranty recovery cases.
  • Recommends to aftersales department claim approval/rejections.
  • Represent Warranty & SWR towards project teams and quality investigations.
  • Continual process improvements
  • Timely escalation of SWR cases to management for speedy resolution.
  1. Technical Material Analysis (TMA):
  • Drive WMA to identify root causes and enable effective corrective actions to reduce Cost of Non-Quality (CoNQ).
  • Contribute to TMA governance meeting.

Minimum qualifications & Skills 

  • Engineering Graduate in Mechanical\Mechatronics\Electrical\Electronics with 7 to 10 years of experience.
  • Work experience in Customer quality & warranty cost recovery process.
  • Work experience in performing TMA.
  • Legal and contractual understanding to perform warranty cost recovery.
  • Data analytics and synthesizing actionable insights.
  • Good Business Understanding, Networking and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in communicating technical aspects.
  • Good Negotiation & conflict management skills.

KPI Accountability: Supplier Warranty Recovery in MJPY, Cost of Non Quality cost reduction in MJPY
