 Mission/purpose of the job

• Material Controller is the frontline team player to control over material schedule and material management toward direct material delivery from both local and overseas suppliers, to ensure material availability at point of use on time in all right conditions

• In Logistics Department, we are serving the Right material, in the Right quantity, in the Right condition, at the Right place, and at the Right time to plant operations. This is to ensure product delivery precision to our customers. You will play an important role to assure healthy supply chain by collaborate among suppliers and cross functional team internally

 Key responsibilities/accountabilities

Material Planning & Scheduling

• Daily material’s alarm monitoring to proactively follow up and expedite the delivery from material suppliers
• Summarize risks of weekly/monthly production schedule / critical supplier to Material Control Manager
• Being front line of contact to material suppliers related daily operations
• Able to lead a meeting or co-ordinate with internal department (ie. Transport Controller, Production Planning, Warehouse, KD Operations, and purchasing) to ensure material availability
• Work with suppliers and other support team to review supplier capacity plans in order to secure delivery concerns.
• Maintain material set-up parameter in ERP/MRP system for appropriate lead time, control inventory level and material scheduling
• Provide root cause analysis with solution from supplier issues who unpunctual delivery and join meeting with SRM to solve problems
• Perform weekly and monthly report for supplier evaluation and measurement report (Price, Material availability at point of use (MA@POU), Quality, Shipment Discrepancy and Delivery performance, missing ASN, Supplier Back Order)

Inbound process and shipment follow-up

• Monitor transport material team to control incoming material dispatch until arrival on time as per system parameters
• Secure the correctness of all concerned shipping document before customs process and all shipment can be successfully received in the system. 
• Follow up with concerned party both internal and external to ensure until material available at point of use (GR, UCR, Reject Quality, packaging related issue, etc)

Others

• Minimize manufacturing cost impact related to inventory management
• Minimize logistics cost impact for any delivery discrepancy and able to generate cost saving idea support plant operation’s KPI
• Initiate, participate, or lead individual project/ improvement assignment
• Other special assignment related to material supply concerns

PERSONAL PROFILE

Preferred educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration in relation to logistics and supply chain management

Preferred experience and knowledge

• End-End supply chain mindset
• Solid analytical skills and basic problem-solving skill.
• High energy, proactively and comfortable performing multiple initiatives in conjunction with day-to-day activities
• Understand ERP and MRP concept
• Opened mind, self-driven, fast learner and able to work under high-pressure working environment

Necessary technical/functional/language skills

• Ability to work successfully in a matrix organisation
• Fluency in speaking, listening and writing English (Chinese / Japanese/ Hindi is a plus)
• Strong in negotiation skills
• Ms Office proficiency especially Excel and Power Point
• Able to use MRP or related software
