Title: Logistics Developer
Position description:
The Logistics Developer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing transport and logistics network solutions for UD Trucks. The role focuses on achieving the most cost-efficient, robust, and sustainable logistics setup while ensuring alignment with operational requirements, system capabilities, and organizational strategy.
The position works closely with Logistics Purchasing, Transport Operations, Plant Logistics, and external partners to deliver measurable improvements in cost, lead time, and CO₂ performance.
The Logistics Developer role reports to the logistics system maintenance & Process manager of UD Logistics Development and offers you an exciting position with the opportunity to develop your supply chain management skills whilst making your mark within a highly dynamic organisation.
Detailed Job Description:
Logistics Development:
- Global Logistics Network Design & Optimization considering transport mode, route, frequency, lead time, volume, filling degree, CO₂ emissions and sustainability impact.
- Identify and implement transport cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives
- Support sourcing decisions through landed cost calculations
- Lead and support logistics development projects and new transport setups
- Prepare business cases and provide documentation for logistics initiatives
- Support new supplier or sourcing project integrations from a logistics perspective
- Support logistics sourcing projects and ensure smooth implementation with logistics service provider and structured handover to operations
- Collaboration with various stakeholders like Logistics Purchasing, Logistics Operations, Plant logistics, material suppliers & Logistics service providers to ensure alignment between network design, operational execution, and sourcing strategies
Logistics Master Data Management:
- Validate and maintain logistics master data in UD OTM Inbound, Outbound logistics systems along with Oracle fusion application for Packaging
- Ensure high-quality and timely master data to support transport execution and invoicing accuracy
- Monitor deviations and implement corrective actions to ensure system reliability
- Act as super user for OTM based logistics systems and OFS
- Support system-related issues, enhancements, and functional troubleshooting
- Participate in digital transformation and system integration projects
- Identify inefficiencies in system and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Train internal users, suppliers, and carriers on logistics systems and processes
- Identify root causes of logistics or system issues and escalate where required
- Ensure adherence to defined logistics setups & processes and Maintain governance across operations, systems and stakeholders
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree and above
- 5+ Years of experience in logistics/supply chain domain with good understanding of functioning of OEM industries
- Hands on experience in Oracle Transport Management & Oracle fusion systems
- Act as a solution-driven and performance-focused professional
- Good understanding of MS office applications, Hands on experience on Power BI & Macro will be added advantage
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making
