Title:  Lead Engineer Steering System

Responsibilities and Duties

• Responsible for the design and development of steering system for Heavy and medium duty commercial vehicles
• Performs design, development, testing/validation of steering system with complete product ownership.
• Lead and perform the FMEAs, DVP, and other quality tools for components and systems to ensure proactive quality.
• Perform Robust RCA for  field complaints , market issues , performance or durability issues for Steering system and its Components
• Responsible to independently drive Cross functional activities with all stakeholders to achieve set project deliverables meetings its QDCF.
• Take Ownership in development of engineering process and method Documents (Testing Requirements, Design guidelines, etc)
• Generate Value Engineering and Value Analysis (VA/VE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) ideas to reduce product costs and drive/support implementation as needed.
• Ensure knowledge management within the responsible work area
• Develop and execute the technology roadmap for Steering system & its components
• Bring value addition to business with innovation, process efficiency, automation and many more initiatives.
• Contribute to Team and department goals in various activities.
• Technical mentoring and competency development of the team members,
• Driving high engagement, keeping high standards.

Minimum qualifications

• You should have degree in BE/ BTech / M.Tech / MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Must have 10-15  Years of relevant Work Experience in the area steering system.
• Expertise in Design and development of commercial vehicle Steering system ,Front axles, Knuckle, king pin, Steering arms, Ball joints, Steering linkages, tie rods, Pitman arm, Steering geometry, steering gear box, Steering pump , Tag axles,
• Overall vehicle level knowledge, awareness of legal and regulatory requirements at system and vehicle level.
• In depth knowledge of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with action-oriented mindset.
• Customer Centric Mindset and strong sense of engineering ownership
• Strong team player, Passionate towards work.
• Solution oriented and high analytical skills.
• Able to Lead cross functional teams and perform complex tasks
