Job Description
As a Solution Architect, you will lead and be accountable for robustness of overall architecture, technical designs. adaptations and solutions in the IT Manufacturing domain area. You’ll be expected to support in major decisions and provide directions related to the strategy, sustenance and improvements in IT/Manufacturing domain area. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the architectural integrity of all custom applications as well as licensed products/services.

Welcome to the Solution Delivery Unit, Operations / Manufacturing (SDO) of Digital Solutions & IT (DSIT) in UD Trucks. SDO is responsible for the management and maintenance of applications used in the Order planning, Industrialize, Production planning, MRP, Material handling, Produce and Controlling functions within UD Trucks. Responsibilities

• Accountable for integrity, development and sustenance of E2E IT architecture of the Manufacturing domain IT landscape in UD Trucks
• Develop strategy, propose, direct, validate and measure changes to sustain and grow the IT landscape in clear alignment to the business vision and roadmap
• Ensure Manufacturing IT portfolio is well managed and compliant according to UD Trucks’ Target EA and Cybersecurity guidelines
• Actively review current architecture and propose creative solutions to increase operational efficiency, maximize value gains, standardize and cost reduction – Key trait!
• Ensure zero technical debt and provide reviews on the existing shortcomings along with mitigation plan and estimation
• Be updated on modern IT Architecture principles and frameworks e.g., TOGAF to provide new thought processes, direction and guidance towards the improvement of Manufacturing IT landscape
• Be well updated in latest concepts or technologies or platforms in Cloud, Integrations (WMQ, MuleSoft, DataPower, EDI, etc.), AI/ML (Gen AI, Agentic AI, LLM, RAG, so on), EDP, Data Analytics/Science, DB refinement, Code Quality review, Test Automation, DevSecOps, CI/CD, IIOT, AR/VR, etc., to push for new value adaptations
• Participate in IT pre-studies/projects and provide high level IT solution proposals along with time and effort estimate
• Develop a Requirement Definition Document (RDD) & High-Level Design (HLD).
• Act as a nexus, working with Enterprise Architects (for alignment), Application Architects (for project/change implementation), and business stakeholders (for requirements).
• Act as technology thought leader and guide/mentor a team of Application Architects within the portfolio
• Ensure necessary architectural documentations are kept updated (Solution architecture, Integration model and Interface model)
• Has a good understanding of IT Cybersecurity principles and guide IT teams to remediate security threats in our solutions as per guidelines from CISO
• Support IT teams to investigate system incidents or technical issues and help them to find root causes
• Provide quick proof of concepts based on new business needs and contribute towards DX ideations
• Facilitate technical workshops and seminars for the spreading knowledge, new concepts and support growth of team – Be technical speaker!
• Represent SDO Manufacturing team in Business review, Technical Architecture and Enterprise Architecture forums

Competencies

• 18 or more years of overall experience in IT and communication
• Minimum 10 years or more of hard-core experience and proven track record in IT strategy, business architecture, application & data architecture, technical architecture, digital transformation, standardization, complex designs & modelling, best practices and compliances 
• Work experience in Order Planning, Bill of material, Production Planning, Scheduling, Material resource planning & call-off, Logistics and MES functions / solutions preferably in OEM Automotive Manufacturing area
• Strong work experience in establishing structure, standardization and governance through proven architecture framework
• Technical
• Proven experience of designing and estimating complex applications across multiple process domains
• Experience in solution migration (legacy to modern platform), scaling and optimization
• Deep understanding and experience working in advanced technologies like Cloud, AI, LLM, EDP / Analytics, Virtualization, Integrations, CI/CD, hand-held devices, so on
• Work experience in Java, .Net, C#, MVC, Entity framework (ADO.net, EF and NHibernate), Windows, Mainframe, Kubernetes, Microservices, Kafka, so on
• Knowledge in Low Code / No Code, Python, BI, PowerApps
• Worked on various Integration platforms like IBM WMQ, EDI, IBM DataPower, MuleSoft and protocols like SOAP, Rest API, so on
• Good knowledge in DevSecOps, CI/CD and Test Automation
• Work experience in databases like SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS, DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Work experience in the Cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google
• Understanding on the various infrastructure (On-prem, COTS, Cloud, SAAS, PAAS, so on), application operations and maintenance 
• Good understanding of Identity access management and IT security management
• Good understanding in standard cybersecurity compliances and vulnerabilities remediation

Qualifications and Education requirements

• M.Sc computer science / MCA / B.E. computer science or other specialization
• 18 or more years of overall experience in IT and communication
• Minumum 10 years or more of relevant experience in IT strategy, transformation / modernization, technical roadmaps, modern technologies (Cloud, AI, LLM, EDP, virtualization, integrations, CI/CD, Mobile, so on), design and domain & technical architecture
• Recommended Certifications in TOGAF or other relevant frameworks, Java, .Net and domain-specific certifications
• Must have in-depth experience in Business Architecture and Solution Architecture - preferably in OEM Manufacturing
• Good experience in developing-introducing-validating custom achitecture framework, ideas, concepts and/or principles - also presenting and promoting to bigger auidence internal and external 
• Strong experience in IT troubleshooting, investigation, techno-functional validation / review and remediation 
• Strong leadership, presentation, guidance and mentoring skills
• Must be fluent in English
• Willing to work from office and occasional travel
