UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. Your mission is to drive and achieve all Purchasing Objectives for the assigned portfolio within UD Trucks Purchasing. Your role as a Buyer - Sheet Metal is both strategic & operational, taking care of sourcing, project and operational maintenance activities.

Responsibilities and Duties 
• Contribute to segment strategies & be an active member in the global network of Buyers.
• Responsible to optimize sourcing activities together with all related functions, Engineering, SQE, Logistics, Cost engineer etc.
• Responsible to secure that supplier selection is aligned with the Segment strategy.
• Responsible of the supplier recommendation in Sourcing Board including Business case, and agreement management.
• Responsible to cost KPI/P&L and MCL of owned segments and suppliers.
• To ensure procurement results within contract packages and to ensure that all contracts are approved and signed.
• Execute agreements with suppliers during production and after production for Revenue segments
• Drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets
• Drive continuously on cost improvement activities, generate cost savings through negotiations and cross functional workshops, including Engineering, Operations and Logistics
• Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in cooperation with SQ&D team
• Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
• Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production phase, and after production phase for Revenue segments
• Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers
• Close monitoring of supplier performance and take corrective actions where needed.
• Secure overall good supplier relationship through conducting business review meetings regularly
• Perform hand-over to Uptime buyer when parts are phased out of production for non-revenue parts.
• Play a leadership role among company members according to the content of activities
• Maintain good synergy and coordination with Isuzu purchasing.
• Support to improve the customer focus by jointly solving the quality issues, improve PPM/QPM and QJ lead time.
• Closely monitor market developments, trends and the best practices available in the market

Minimum qualifications
• Min 5 years of purchasing/supply chain/logistics/material management experience

• Knowledge of Financial analysis, Cost Management, Production & Supply chain and technology

• University degree in Engineering, Master’s degree is an added advantage.

• Previous experience in Commercial Vehicle Industry is preferred

• Language Skills: Japanese Language skills is additional advantage.
