Job Overview

UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  Within UD Trucks Technology, the Project Office has the responsibility lead and manage all the project activities to deliver the project portfolio for UD Trucks.

As a key member of the Project Office, the CPM is responsible to lead a cross functional project team to deliver the assigned projects according to QDCCF targets and agreed processes.

The key focus of the position will be to secure that the project activities are executed in an efficient and timely manner, meeting the demands for the UD Trucks business while following proven project management principals and adhering to the Isuzu Groups and UD Trucks project development processes.

Key Responsibilities & Deliveries

・As chief project manager, secure a complete business focus and mindset is maintained in all the project activities to deliver the project in an efficient and predictable manner
・Fully responsible and accountable for the overall delivery of the decided scope of assigned projects.
・Establish and maintain overall project organisation to deliver the results in an efficient, flexible and pragmatic manner
・Drive the project according to basics of the DVP processes but adapted to the needs of the UD Trucks organisation
・Creating, maintaining and aligning project Main Time Plan with time plan for all sub projects.
・Managing the project cost - establish, forecast, follow-up, analysis of deviations, challenge, define priorities.
・Regular reporting to the decided governance bodies to update project status, request support, open gates and request funding
・Pro-actively identify and create action plans, communicate impact and alternatives to reduce risk throughout the project with specific focus on securing product quality is not impacted.
・Continuously challenge and strive to improve efficiency and lead time in the delivery of project activities to secure the best outcome for UD Trucks. 
・Participate and where assigned, lead the pre-study activities for preparation of new projects initiatives for Initiation Decisions.           

Qualifications / Training

・University degree in Engineering or Master Degree, or equivalent level.
・PMI Certification is strongly preferred
・Min 10-15 years' experience in Automotive industry:
・Managerial position
・Product development
・Project management
・Strong background in Project Management and Project Program Management experience in projects with the following metrics
・Project Cost > 750MJPY
・Organization impact over 100 persons
・High profile project with medium to high risk
・Powertrain (Engine, Transmission) experience is desired
・OEM experience in Japan is preferred
・Management experience as group leader is beneficial
・Fluent in English both oral and written is essential
・Competency in Japanese is beneficial
・Candidate with valid work visa will be preferred
