[Mission/purpose of the Job ]

As an Infrastructure Operation Specialist, you will support the daily operation of IT infrastructure in manufacturing and engineering environments.

You will provide first and second-level support by investigating issues, performing troubleshooting, and implementing fixes in collaboration with IT teams and vendors.

You will also perform operational tasks including pre-checks, preventive maintenance, and support activities based on time-critical requirements for industrial sites.

In this role, you will support and contribute to the essential processes of our product manufacturing by ensuring robust and reliable IT services.

All related activities in UD Trucks Operations and engineering department.

 

[Key responsibilities/Accountabilities]

1. Preventive Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Plan and execute scheduled preventative maintenance for onsite IT hardware (servers, network devices, industrial PCs, etc.)
  • Take ownership of hardware inventory management and asset lifecycle information for factory IT equipment.

2. Incident & Issue Management

  • Independently manage and resolve incidents within own domain, minimizing production impact

3. Hardware Delivery, Installation & Replacement

  • Coordinate onsite delivery, installation, replacement, and disposal of IT equipment (PCs, printers, scanners, industrial devices) in factory and laboratory environments.
  • Work with IT teams, vendors, and factory stakeholders to ensure correct setup and minimal disruption during hardware rollout and refresh activities.

4. Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and external service providers.
  • Communicate effectively with factory business stakeholders.

5. Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement

Create and maintain basic documentation and training materials for infrastructure operations.

•    Maintain stable availability of factory IT equipment and related infrastructure services.
•    Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents quickly to minimize operational downtime.
•    Ensure IT equipment and infrastructure meet daily operational and user requirements.
•    Work effectively with team members, IT teams, and vendors to support smooth operations.
•    Japanese: Native-level proficiency required, including the ability to communicate using industry-specific and factory-related terminology is required.

Relevant university degree is preferable.

 

[Experience and knowledge]

•    Basic understanding of IT support operations in a manufacturing or automotive-related environment.
•    Hands-on experience supporting factory and warehouse IT equipment (PCs, printers, barcode readers, tablets, EDA, FMCs), including installation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support.
•    Experience monitoring IT equipment and infrastructure using standard tools and responding to incidents or alerts.
•    Ability to handle user requests, incident escalations, and communicate clearly with end users during issues or outages.
•    Ability to understand technical information and work proactively to support stable factory operations.

 

[Technical/functional/language skills]

•    Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows OS and common PC-related issues.
•    Basic understanding of network fundamentals (LAN/Wi-Fi, connectivity checks, basic diagnosis).
•    Ability to perform initial triage and support for high-priority incidents, and escalate to L2/L3 teams when needed.
•    Experience using ITSM tools and processes for incident and request handling (e.g., ServiceNow).
•    Experience with monitoring and alert handling using standard tools (e.g., Zabbix, Power Automate).
•    Hands-on experience with PC setup, device imaging, OS installation (Windows), and coordination with vendors for PC procurement.
•    Language: Native-level Japanese proficiency required; basic English reading and writing skills.
