Department Overview
The International Sales Department at UD Trucks is responsible for expanding the commercial vehicle business in overseas markets.
Working closely with regional hubs, the department drives sales growth and profitability through project-based business, including ODA projects (Official Development Assistance).
A key feature of this role is providing end-to-end value in collaboration with trading companies, body builders, and overseas offices, from proposing optimal vehicle solutions based on customer needs to delivery and after-sales support.
Role description
- Drive ODA projects as primary representative and align with all relevant divisions, trading companies and body builders to support sales of the regional hubs
- Support the manager in visiting targeted customers with hubs to build and enhance relationship followed with Key Account Management direction
- Join to the various HD projects in the department directly/indirectly and play and fulfil the respective role
Responsibilities
ODA Sales
- Obtaining inquiries and projects through ODA stakeholders such as trading companies, bodybuilders and clients, and conducting deals in line with UDIS’ business objectives
- Acting as main interface of ODA business in the company, collaborating with hubs and facilitating the entire projects
- Proposing ideal product offer and price range to hub and convince trading company for UD as most appropriate supplier for the projects
- Organizing complete truck offer collaborating with IS-Sales Support and hubs
Key Account Management Support
- Visiting customers periodically aligned with respective commercial organizations to understand customer needs and support hubs to enhance UD presence in the market
- Advising customers through KAM approach to support building continuous and consistent relationship
- Bringing customer needs to the team and related division to accomplish for future success
HD Sales Support
- Participating as a member of various HD Projects in SSBD and contribute to the department objective
Work Environment
In this position, you will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including overseas offices and trading companies, allowing you to gain experience at the forefront of global business.
Required Qualifications
・At least 5 years of combined practical experience in overseas sales, sales engineering, key account management, or related functions in the commercial vehicle or automotive industry
・Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
・Knowledge of trade operations and Incoterms
Preferred Qualifications
・Experience in overseas sales in the automotive or construction machinery industry
・Experience in overseas sales at a trading company
・Knowledge of the commercial vehicle business and related products/services
・Experience in complete vehicle proposals based on ODA projects or customer needs
