Introduction
We are looking for a new Buyer to join our enthusiastic indirect procurement team as a Buyer located in Ageo, Japan. As a buyer in UDT IPS (Indirect Products and Services) you will be challenged to deliver value to the organization taking a TCO (Total Cost Ownership) perspective. In Purchasing we deliver on all KPIs meaning; quality, cost, delivery, feature, sustainability, technical solution, risk. We are often in a position where we need to challenge both internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the company, so stakeholder management and communication is critical in this position.

What you will do
This job is to…
- Lead, negotiate and execute sourcing and purchasing activities.
- Execute on purchasing processes to generate business value and compliance.
- Supplier management (establish relationship, managing requirements, communicating clearly with suppliers)
- Own the purchasing contract roadmaps and responsible for its renewal/extension.
- Develop segment business strategy for responsible segments in, collaborating with Stakeholders.
- Drive and develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) plans for suppliers and manage supplier performance reviews with suppliers and stakeholders through business review meeting or operational performance review to maintain the competitiveness and the appropriate performance level.
- Perform daily operational purchasing activities / Purchase Order management.
- Contribute to the Segment administration/Supplier Base Management regularly.
- Act as “Business Consultant” in related purchasing issues to generate the added value to the stakeholders.
- Drive business synergies and continuous improvement with benchmarking, customer feedback, networking, market intelligence, best practice sharing across the globe.
- Prepare and report Key Performance Indicators development to key stakeholders.
- Coach and support other team members in the day-to-day work to maximize team performance
MUST:
Experience in purchasing business or experience of supplier selection processes
Negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholders/suppliers.
Japanese skill (Fluent), English skill (Business basic level)
Preferred:
Experience of indirect purchasing (especially facility investments, energy utility and operational services for plant and office)
