Title: Compliance Manager
Overview:

You will join a team of legal and compliance professionals with diverse background and experience.
As a member of the UDT Legal and Compliance team, UDT Compliance Manager is responsible for (i) design and develop the Compliance Activity Plan with Compliance Officer, (ii) the implementation of the Compliance Activity Plan with Compliance Officer and (iii) investigations into alleged non-compliance with Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager provides support within the areas of the Compliance to the businesses, including the Legal & Compliance team supporting UDT businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the UDT compliance activities and set the agenda and strategy for the compliance activities together with the Compliance Officer
- Design and develop UDT Compliance Activity Plan and trainings in the key compliance topics (competition law, anti-corruption, data privacy, export control etc.) in line with UD policies
- Support UDT functions and overseas companies on the implementation of compliance programs and provide guidance through policies and guidelines as well as through training and tailored advice on key compliance topics, in coordination with Function Lead and Country Counsels
- Support UDT management on compliance issues as well as with regard to sensitive and challenging business propositions, together with Function Lead and Country Counsels
- Act Whistleblower/compliance investigations and follow-up on/monitor progress of improvement actions through completion
- Report the status of the compliance activities on a regular basis to the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Officer
- Provide support for the formulation of export control regulations and the creation of educational materials.
- Prepare various materials, manage compliance meetings, and promote issues
- Other instructions from the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Officers
Required Skills/Experiences
- Excellent command of Japanese and English languages, both written and spoken
- Strong analytical and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Solid knowledge of legal requirements and procedures as well as business sense
- Decisive problem-solving abilities, synthesizing and communication skills
- Capable of setting clear goals and priorities to manage workload and multiple tasks to meet stringent deadlines.
- Strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity
- Ability to handle complex compliance issues and develop solutions independently, comfortable with exercising independent judgment
- A can-do mind-set with high drive and energy - i.e. willingness to 'go the extra mile' when/if needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel (primarily to Japan and SEA countries) as needed.
