Title:  CAB Interior Control parts Lead engineer

Position Description

• CAB interior control lead engineer is responsible to deliver high end and value truck for UD Trucks.
• Our mission is to provide a reliable, innovative, customized and optimal set of solutions
• Main components: Steering wheel / Airbag / Steering column / Pedal system / Tipper and mixer control lever etc.

• Some CAB department representative roles apart from engineering work.

Competence
1. Well experienced technical knowledge for Interior control parts engineering
2. Project development and future product planning

3. Good technical knowledge for electrical engineering
4. Basic 3D CAD operation skill (CREO and NX)
5. Customer and business oriented mindset
6. Teamwork, Integrity and Trust
7. BSc or MSc degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
8. Fluent in Japanese is mandatory
9. Good verbal and written communication skills in English

10. Addition to above, followings are also required for lead engineer

Advance engineering:

1. Know the competitor solutions
2. Follow the evolution of potential new solutions
3. Initiate new technology development activities
4. Ensure technology development projects deliver the intended results

Project execution:
1. Be accountable for all product deliveries for the respective product ranges
2. Approve if product is ready for release with the objective of exceeding customer expectations
3. Deliver best solutions for both company and customers
4. Quality assured products

CAST and adoption of new technology:
1. Develop roadmaps to create business advantage and meet customer demands
2. Plan how to mature technology to ensure quality during introduction
3. Approve new technology for the introduction into products
4. Complete responsibility for the product including CAST (Common Architecture and Shared Technology) or supplier solution
5. Stand behind/Present concepts and technical solutions in executive reviews

Quality and maintenance:
1. Know the quality and feature status of the concerned system in the market 
2. Actively search for information from the field
3. Know the complete product performance on the market
4. Drive quality issues, lead from the front

Experience:
• Competence in the area of overall Interior controls is must requirement
• At least 10 years of experience from Interior control parts development within the automotive industry
• Experience from working in a SIPD (Supplier Involvement in Product Development) set up is an advantage
