Your Mission
As a Buyer, you will be at the heart of driving purchasing excellence and business impact across your assigned portfolio. Acting as a strategic partner to the organization, you will not only ensure operational performance but also shape sourcing strategies that directly influence cost, quality, and innovation.
In this role, you will:
- Play a pivotal role in shaping and executing global commodity strategies as part of an international purchasing network
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities in close collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, SQE, Logistics, Cost Engineering, etc.)
- Drive supplier selection aligned with long-term segment strategies and evolving business needs
- Take ownership of supplier nominations at Sourcing Boards, including building strong business cases and leading agreement negotiations
- Own and drive cost performance (KPI / P&L / MCL), contributing directly to business profitability
- Establish robust contractual frameworks and ensure compliant execution
- Build and manage strong supplier partnerships across the full lifecycle—from production to post-production
- Deliver on QDCFTSR targets by continuously improving supplier performance, quality, cost, and delivery
- Anticipate risks and proactively mitigate them in collaboration with SQ&D teams
- Forecast cost evolution and actively support financial planning and decision-making
- Lead negotiations for product and process changes throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure seamless daily purchasing operations, including order management, logistics, and financial flows
- Facilitate smooth transitions to Uptime Buyers as products move out of production
Required Skills / Experiences
Required
• 3 years’ experience in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship
• Knowledge of Financial analysis, Cost Management, Production & Supply chain and technology
• Business acumen, MS Office
• Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience
• Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives
• Fluent both English and Japanese, both written and spoken
